What usually goes wrong in a redesign
The expensive mistake in a redesign is not the design. It is the URLs. A new site goes live with a new page structure, the old addresses return 404s, and search visibility that took years to earn disappears in a fortnight.
The second mistake is rebuilding everything. Some of your existing pages are already bringing in enquiries. Replacing them with a generic services page loses you the thing that was working.
And plenty of redesigns simply repeat the original problem in a newer typeface: still slow, still awkward on a phone, still vague about which areas you cover.
We start by looking at what you have: which pages exist, which ones are doing work, and what is worth keeping. Those get rebuilt rather than dropped.
Every old URL is mapped to its closest new one and redirected, so a visitor arriving from a two-year-old Google result or an old business card still lands somewhere sensible.
The rebuild itself is the same as a new build: mobile first, search groundwork in place and fast on a weak signal. You review it on a private link before anything replaces what is live.

Not if the redirects are mapped properly. The risk in a redesign is old URLs returning 404s, so every existing address gets pointed at its closest new equivalent before launch. Rankings can move around for a few weeks afterwards while Google recrawls, then settle.
