Case study · Timber flooring and decking

Impi Teak: seven timber services, each with its own page

A Midrand timber workshop selling flooring, decking, staircases and reclaimed parquet across South Africa and five neighbouring countries. One page could never carry that, so each service got its own.

The brief

What the site had to do

Impi Teak is a timber business working out of one workshop in President Park, Midrand. It supplies and installs hardwood, solid, engineered and parquet flooring, restores reclaimed parquet, and builds decking, staircases, pergolas, carports, balconies and cladding. It also takes on timber-led renovation work.

That is seven distinct services, and they attract very different enquiries. Somebody searching for reclaimed parquet restoration is not the same customer as somebody pricing a pool deck. A single page listing everything would have had to rank for all of it at once and would have told each visitor mostly about work they had not come for.

The service area is wide as well. The site names Johannesburg, Pretoria, Midrand, Cape Town, Durban, Gqeberha, Bloemfontein, Polokwane, Mbombela, Kimberley and East London, and it also covers Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, Eswatini and the DRC. That reach had to be visible without turning into a wall of place names.

How the site is put together

  • A page for each service, so each one can rank on its own terms
  • Home, About, Services, Gallery and Contact as the primary navigation
  • A project gallery, because timber work is judged by looking at it
  • A quote form asking name, phone, service required and project details
  • Phone, WhatsApp and the workshop address on the contact page
  • Mobile-first layouts, since most first visits arrive on a phone

SEO foundations

  • The title and description name the actual services and the country rather than a generic 'welcome to our website'.
  • Each service page has its own heading structure, so search engines and screen readers read the same outline.
  • Service-area wording appears in normal sentences, not stuffed into a list of towns at the foot of the page.

Where it stands

The site is live and every service Impi Teak sells has a page a customer can be sent to directly. Enquiries arrive by form, phone or WhatsApp, and the workshop address is published, which matters for a business people visit. No traffic or enquiry figures are published here because none have been measured and shared - what can be said is that the structure now matches the business.

Inside the build

Structure, not decoration

Service pages that stand alone

Flooring, reclaimed parquet, restoration, decking, structures, staircases and renovations each have their own page and their own heading structure. A visitor arriving from a search for one of them lands on the page about that thing, not on a homepage they then have to navigate.

A gallery doing real work

Timber is a visual purchase and the finish is the argument. The gallery is part of the primary navigation rather than buried under About, so the proof of workmanship is one tap from anywhere on the site.

One quote form, reachable everywhere

The form asks for a name, a phone number and what the project is, with email and detail optional. It carries a hidden honeypot field to catch automated spam without putting a puzzle in front of a real customer.
